The sleek PowerShot S3 IS digital camera offers you high resolution, an extra-long zoom, advanced yet easy-to-use movie functions plus great new shooting options. Also, with Image Stabilizer technology, images and movies taken with the S3 IS are sharp and smooth, even when the camera gets jostled. It's everything you need to capture the fun, excitement and beauty of your active life - wherever it takes you! Successor to the popular PowerShot S2 IS, the latest addition to the PowerShot S-series incorporates a 6.0-megapixel CCD sensor, Canon's renowned optical Image Stabilizer technology, and video functionality rivalling that of dedicated digital video camcorders. Sporting a striking new finish in gunmetal grey, the compact PowerShot S3 IS answers the demands of advanced photographers with several improvements over its predecessor, including an increased sensitivity range of ISO 80 to ISO 800, a larger 2.0-inch vari-angle LCD screen, widescreen (16:9) recording, new movie features, and an additional Sports mode. Canon PowerShot S3 IS features: 12x optical zoom lens with USM and UD lens element Optical Image Stabilizer 6.0-megapixel CCD Larger size 2.0-inch vari-angle LCD 30-frame-per-second (fps) VGA movies with stereo sound and Photo in Movie feature DIGIC II, iSAPS, and Flexizone AF/AE for fast, precise results and 2.3 fps continuous shooting performance 20 shooting modes and My Colors photo effects High ISO Auto and ISO 800 for low light flexibility Widescreen (16:9) recording The PowerShot S3 IS caters for serious photo enthusiasts seeking extended zooming flexibility and fully featured movie recording in a versatile compact digital stills camera. Optics Still the most powerful zoom in a Canon digital compact camera (36 to 432mm, f2.7-f.3.5), the PowerShot S3 IS's lens incorporates the same leading technologies used in Canon's professional EF lenses. An Ultra-Sonic Motor (USM) drives rapid and near-silent zoom operation; an Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens element significantly reduces chromatic aberration in telephoto shots; Canon's optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology counteracts camera shake to reduce image blur when shooting stills or recording video, essential for handheld shots at longer focal lengths. IS allows photographers to shoot at shutter speeds up to 3 stops slower for reliable flash-free photography in low light conditions. The PowerShot S3 IS's 12x optical zoom combines with digital zoom to deliver 48x magnification for recording both stills and video. For even wider framing options, optional wide and telephoto converter lenses extend the focal length from wide 27mm to super-tele 648mm (35mm film equivalent) for an impressive 24x optical zoom. A Super Macro mode and optional Close-Up lens 500D (58mm) allow for detailed macro photography. (Optional wide, telephoto, and close-up lenses not included--must be purchased separately.) Increased ISO speed In addition to Image Stabilization, the PowerShot S3 IS features a new High ISO Auto setting and ISO 800 to further extend the camera's low light shooting capabilities. High ISO Auto automatically sets exposure using the higher range of ISO sensitivities, enabling faster shutter speeds in low light and increased image stability at the telephoto end. A dedicated ISO button allows for easy switching between ISO sensitivities. Movie functions Powerful video functions make the PowerShot S3 IS far more than just a high-performance digital still camera. A dedicated movie button means users do not need to switch modes to start recording, so spontaneous moments can be instantly captured in full motion. Users can record smooth 30-frame-per-second VGA quality movies of up to 1 GB with stereo sound, or create 60-frame-per-second QVGA clips for sharp slow-motion playback. The Movie mode also allows users to pre-select exposure and white balance, zoom throughout the camera's focal range, and manually adjust focus while shooting. A Photo In Movie feature enables the capture of full resolution digital stills during video recording. Creative shooting The PowerShot S3 IS offers 20 shooting modes including full Manual mode, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Speed Priority. Together with 2.3-frame-per-second continuous shooting, a new fast-shutter Sports mode with improved autofocus accuracy provides unprecedented capabilities for capturing action sports sequences. Special Scene modes--such as Night Snapshot and Snow--assist with tricky lighting conditions, while Color Accent and Color Swap modes enable dramatic color effects to be applied to both images and movies. Canon's My Colors photo effects have been enhanced for this model, and can now be applied to images both before and after shooting. The PowerShot S3 IS features a new Widescreen mode (2816 x 1584 recording pixels) for capturing still images in 16:9 format--perfect for viewing images on widescreen television or printing wide (10 x 20-centimeter) photos with a Selphy Compact Photo Printer. Printing and other features A new, dedicated Print menu simplifies printing of multiple images. Full PictBridge support means users can print directly to any PictBridge compatible printer without the need for a PC. New PictBridge features include the ability to print shooting data and optimize faces in portrait shots when connected to a compatible Canon PIXMA printer. The camera's ID photo and movie stills features are also available when connected to a Selphy CP Series Printer. A handy Print/Share button allows one-touch printing and easy uploads to Windows or Mac systems. (Printer not included--must be purchased separately.) The camera's menu system now features support for Arabic, bringing the total number of supported languages to 23. Canon technologies explained Optical Image Stabilizer Canon's lens-shift-type optical Image Stabilizer counteracts the camera shake caused by slight hand movements. Vibration sensors detect the angle and speed of movement and send this information to a processor, allowing the camera to compensate. This adds stability to hand-held, telephoto, or moving shots and enables shooting at shutter speeds of up to three stops slower with no noticeable increase in image blur. DIGIC II Canon's purpose-built DIGIC II (DIGital Imaging Core) image processor links all primary camera functions for maximum efficiency. High-speed processing results in outstanding responsiveness, rapid autofocus, and extended continuous shooting ability. Advanced image processing algorithms deliver superb image detail and color reproduction with accurate white balance and minimal noise. DIGIC II operates efficiently to extend battery life, for longer shooting on a single charge. iSAPS iSAPS (Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) automatically optimizes key camera settings before every shot. Each scene is analyzed and cross-referenced against Photographic Space--a vast in-camera library of photographic data. This enables the camera to make optimal adjustments to autoexposure, autofocus, and auto white balance before image capture occurs. 9-Point AiAF Canon's 9-point AiAF (Artificial Intelligence Autofocus) automatically scans and selects subjects from a set of nine focusing areas across the scene. This ensures accurately focused images even when subjects are not in the centre of the frame. FlexiZone AF/AE FlexiZone AF/AE lets users manually select the focus point from almost any point in the frame by moving the autofocus window in the viewfinder. Exposure is linked to the focus point to ensure that the chosen subject is accurately focused and exposed. Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) lens technology No matter how well engineered, conventional optical glass lens elements cause chromatic aberrations which can 'soften' images and appear in photographs as fringing around the outside edge of subjects. Canon's Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) glass has special optical properties to successfully reduce these aberrations. Especially effective in super telephoto lenses, UD glass helps to deliver crisp, sharp, high-contrast images. By Anthony Pantliano thought I wanted a micro-sized camera and bought two different brands of compact cameras just to go back because the picture quality under par. After that experience I decided to write the new PowerShot S3 IS a chance. Ensure that there may be small enough to fit in a pocket, but what a camera! The pictures are great, with sharp images from corner to corner, a 12x zoom lens and optical image stabilization quite effective. The benefits of optical image stabilization can not be underestimated in a chamber with a long zoom. When you zoom into maximum telephoto every movement in his hands the results of a large movement in the lens. With stabilizer if you remove the problem. The images have low noise ISO 80-400, ISO 800 I have not tried, but it's good to have in a pinch, the tilt and swivel LCD screen is great, you'll wonder how you ever lived without before. Battery life is excellent and I can not underemphasize the benefit of the cameras on standard AA batteries. If you ever find yourself in the midst of one day of shooting and the batteries die simply pop into a local supermarket and pick up some more. I suggest you buy a good set of rechargeable NiMH batteries do. The movie mode is great with the zoom feature, one touch / Stop dedicated stereo sound! Also, finally, a Canon PowerShot digital with a live histogram! You will not be disappointed with this camera. 332 of 347 people found the following review helpful. Camera aims to make the best photographers and K. Williams too many resources. So little time. It 'possible that a camera for an amateur photographer? Apparently this is the objective of the Canon S3, offers easy access to controls that compensate for common difficult shooting scenarios. Most point-and-shoot (P & D) cameras have a few buttons - relying instead on the hidden menu driven. Although this may make the camera appear less intimidating at first, find the correct setting while attempting to photograph frame and action or bad lighting subjects is frustrating. As a result, many unused features. For comparison, the S3 has at least ten more buttons of my P + S left MINOLTA Dimage G500 (5 megapixel 3x optical zoom). And a lot of Canon multifunction buttons, depending on whether you take in one of several ways, playing back stills, or movies - which provides dozens of useful options. Canon S3 has a button for quick access to movie recording (with on-screen options for 320x240 or 640x480 15/30 fps 15/30/60 fps) up to 1 GB or one hour per clip stereo and zoom functions satisfy the movies . But if all your photos even in this setting, you might as well use a P & S model. The main advantage of the many buttons and knobs on the S3 is a quick access to a wide range of useful features without taking your eyes of the subject. FUNC [FUNCTION] can present a huge amount of relevant information, while the sharp image is visible. Everything from the remaining number of images and image quality, white balance and ISO feedback on the correct boundary DISP [LAY] button activates the network and histogram, switching between LCD and viewfinder, or reduce the amount of information on the screen. Either the screen is equally informative and useful for the adjustment. MENU button is different, that it seldom used options to replace temporarily focused topic. Develop a little further.

By slwChell Although my SD110 seemed indestructible, it could not with the size and mobility of the new generation of elves, so it was time for a replacement. With less than one hundred U.S. dollars separate the top five models, a consumer could also be a minor to get over dither. Currently most Amazon consumers, in contrast to the adage "newer is better" and go with the SD600 (the technical people Cnet support, to provide him with a rating equal to or higher than the slightly larger and heavier SD700 and SD800 and SD900 past , both with DIGIC III processors). Perhaps their thinking is like mine: First, its dimensions (width, depth and height) is smaller and the weight (less than 5 oz) lighter than the other six models (which are 500 and 630 is bigger is actually a bit of an oxymoron: a larger screen, refuse around the eyes, but with stricter controls and the smallest of eyes take to locate and navigate), second, 600 September, only that the original Canon Elph aesthetic perfectly square corners on each corner holding the camera (the Canon Sleek look, which will be presented, is, I confess, a minor offense to me) Finally, after the entry into the category of time until the first time and every time is the 600 comparable in speed with other models, rated a nanosecond behind the 800, but better than the 900th In addition, the price for the right moment (if not also expect that this model is much longer). If you can live with "only" six megapixels and shoot with one hand steady enough to the absence of 700 image stabilization feature that might be "The One" for you (not for an eternity, but in our world is rapidly changing technology to ignore even "extended honeymoon" for several years should be considered equivalent to a lasting marriage.) If he needs a recommendation, my son-in-law botanist, who owns an SD500, is about to order a supply of the 600 smaller and lighter into the hands of his students in the field. Postscript: Contrary to what one critic later said, this camera is not an "anti-shake" function, like the SD700. I've never had a problem with blurred images, but if you look at the pictures nervous, shooting try through the viewfinder of a firmer grip (which is missing, the goal of the SD630). On June 1 megapixel Lens vs. In addition, only the stronger eye would detect a difference in the quality of the resolution - and even then it would take a picture blown up to wallpaper size, then, the cost of SD memory cards has dropped from 50% in the past months, so it makes sense to go for large (1 GB) card. I would also like to spend the extra fifteen dollars for the increased speed of the SanDisk Ultra II. (If you want to check the results of a shooting time after exposure or if you transfer a lot of hits to your computer at the same time, you will notice the difference). If you are satisfied with a conventional SD card and want to save a few dollars more, go with Kingston (as good as Sandisk, in my experience, although I would stay clear of Lexar, which gave me problems). 482 of 499 people found this review helpful. A week in Boston - 400 + photos and not bad in the pile! By Donn Young This is my third - and perhaps last - digital camera. It does everything perfectly and in a size that I can just throw in your pocket, so it's always there Before the SD600, I had a Canon S100 2.1 MP [camera] and a Sony DSC-W1 5.1 mp [a piece of @ # $% - each] other image blurry. With less than a year Sony, I could not stand it anymore - it was time to go back to Canon, so do not miss any future shots. Useful if you have your hands busy is the Just Say Yo, this belt great for situations where you constantly switch between achieving your camera and get some activities (parties, playing with kids, or even at your hands during a break) . Its nice to have not always find a safe place to rest your camera. The strap is actually made of metal inside for strength and transparent plastic on the outside for scratches. A metal strap would just scratch your camera eventually quit. 25 of 26 people found the following review helpful. Strong, safe, looks good by B. A World of Advantages with Canon’s Technology The DIGIC 4 image processor has evolved Face Detection Technology that tracks the faces of moving subjects and lets the shooter enter the frame seamlessly with the Face Detection Self-Timer. DIGIC 4 Image Processor Canon’s most advanced image processor, DIGIC 4, delivers evolved Face Detection Technology that keeps every face in every photo looking its very best. The technology finds and tracks the faces of moving subjects until you’re ready to shoot, then delivers perfect focus. In addition, exposure, flash and white balance are compensated, so that faces exhibit natural skin tones and backgrounds are properly exposed. iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. A Face Detection Self-Timer automatically detects an increase in the number of faces and makes the appropriate adjustments. For instance, to include the photographer’s face in a group shot, there’s no need to rush in. Just put the camera on a stand or tripod, specify Face Detection Self-Timer, and the camera will wait for the photographer’s face to get on-camera before it takes the shot. Motion Detection tracks moving subjects in a much larger range, and the Servo AF retains focus on a moving subject after the shutter button is pressed halfway--allowing you to wait for the perfect shot without refocusing. Intelligent Contrast Correction DIGIC 4 also makes possible the i-Contrast (Intelligent Contrast Correction) system, which controls the compensation level in pixel units to brighten dark areas while leaving bright areas unchanged for better images where the main subject is dark, and more natural transition. The PowerShot SD780 IS Digital ELPH can even use i-Contrast in playback mode to adjust images that were shot without the setting activated. Red-eye Correction provides three options for removing red-eye from subjects in flash pictures. 1) Red-eye Correction during shooting actually identifies and corrects red-eye in human subjects as pictures are taken. 2) The PowerShot SD780 IS Digital ELPH can be set to automatically detect and correct red-eye during image playback. 3) You can manually locate any red eyes in a scene during image playback on the LCD screen, and command the camera to remove them. Life doesn’t give you second chances to capture special times. That’s why the PowerShot SD780 IS Digital ELPH features an ISO 1600 setting that reduces the effects of camera shake and sharpens subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. ISO can be expanded to 3200 when you select ISO 3200 Special Scene mode. The best customer response in 1069 of 1089 people found the following review helpful. A real pocket camera with HD video U. Wilkins has just bought this gun for fun, today at Best Buy. I have played with it for most of the night. My previous SD300 is still working like a champ, but I have been considering a camcorder for a while ... After peering over the counter a camcorder that came to the table for point and shoot ... what originally attracted me to the SD780IS was his appearance on the stand. The sleek matte-black body is very pleasing to the eye ... then looked at the specifications. and realized that records video in HD! (1280x720) then all other attributes made me realize that it was time to update my "anywhere, anytime" by the camera. I started to review some of the other Canon SD cameras. The SD960 has become the second candidate ... Glass has a bit more (4x) zoom lens, is the SD780 (3x) zoom lens. The SD960 has an attractive f2.8 The SD780 has 8 apeture F32. The screen of the SD960 is ideal for capturing HD video because it has a 16:9 aspect ratio LCD panel. (A little 'good for the instantaneous display of the camera) The thought went with the SD780 for these reasons: 1. HD video capability is impressive and comparable to the SD960. It has HDMI. The traditional 4:3 screen does not bother me, because the video is finally going to be viewed on an HDTV. (There will be a bar on the top and bottom with LCD read-SD780 is 4:09). 2.The low 3x zoom is not a big problem that this camera is for shooting in general (except w / freinds, bars, afternoon accident at the beach, cycling, etc.) and with this camera easliy fit in my jeans pocket or Camelbak, portability is what gives me the opportunity to document these moments that would otherwise be lost. The SD960 is slightly larger (but still small). I also shoot with a Canon 40D, together with optical L, but the weight and bulkiness is not suitable for shooting situations (such mentined above) 3 The user interface on the SD780IS is that most (if not all?) Than SD cameras. While there is little control in the way of shooting settings, function keys, such as flash override, AE lock, AF lock and exposure compensation are present on the camera body. The SD960IS has two buttons and a jog wheel that allows swimming in the menu. I am sure that the new interface of 960 is intuitive, but I liked because of its similarity to my old SD300 780th I am very pleased with the results produced so far with SD780IS. HD video is excellent, but you should know that after recording only the digital zoom. Cabilities low light and sound in video mode is excellent. I took stills looks good. Even the budget-minded who are upgrading from older digital point-and-shoots, a Class 4 would be at least 4 GB or 8 GB SDHC card is also suitable for the demanding memory of the 121 million pixel high-definition video. Even the most old card reader will not handle SDHC cards, so you might have to buy a new card reader as well. I have to mention it again ... The small size of the Canon SD780IS is overwhelming ... and functionality actually reflects its beauty. 430 of 439 people found the following review helpful. Revolutionary! Beautiful and powerful, by W. Chan OVERVIEW Canon SD780IS is the perfect travel companion / everyday camera. It weighs just over 4 ounces. The size of the camera is amazing. It's smaller than my iPhone 3G and my wallet. I love the new 720p HD video recording feature on the 2009 Canon P + S line. The image stabilization for video / stills picture is a winner. The clips are sharper and clearer than clips from the Creative Vado Flip Video Mino HD and HD. Playback on PCs for playing video without jagged images on your computer, you must have at least a Core 2 Duo 166 GHz or faster processor for Windows (Vista / XP SP2/XP SP 3) or Core Duo 1.66 GHz or faster processor Mac OS X (v10.4-v10.5) memory cards.

Bring creativity to your photos with new scene modes such as Miniature Effect and Fisheye Effect The Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS Digital ELPH offers creative effects similar to those found in certain professional lenses. Miniature Effect creates an illusion where very large objects appear in miniature proportions. Turn soaring cityscapes into a scene in seemingly dollhouse-like proportions. Fisheye Effect uses barrel distortion to warp the image around the center, giving a distinctive curvature effect to the photo. The curvilinear images produced by Fisheye Effect can suggest the curve of the Earth, the inside of a dome, or the image you see through the peephole of a door. ISO of 400-6400 in Low Light mode Now even scenes notorious for having insufficient light, such as those lit by candles, fire, or street lamp, come through in fantastic color and clarity, with less noise. New Smart Shutter technology Smart Shutter, which includes Smile Self-Timer, Wink Self-timer and Face Self-timer, detects faces in the scene and releases the shutter automatically in response to the appearance of an additional face, or when a smile or sassy wink occurs. The best customer feedback 744 of 756 people found this review helpful. The Canon SD1400IS is compact and capable SDesign In short, this is an excellent camera in a very small package that works well! I wanted a small portable camera with video capabilities of high definition could take with me when I did not want to take my digital SLR (Canon 40D + lenses) and this little gem fits the bill. This camera replaced a Canon PowerShot SD780IS (Black), I came back because of the constant noise in audio (beep) while recording video. Rather than risk another bad SD780IS with the same subject (many seem to have heard the noise / hum), I decided to upgrade to the latest Canon PowerShot SD1400IS (Black). I am pleased that this camera has no problem with the audio and video recording. The image quality of the SD780IS and SD1400IS is approximately the same height and with what one would expect from an ultra-portable camera small. 12MP to 14MP ranging from a wash if the sensor is the same and the results are very similar, I have some pictures of flowers placed under "customer images" in Canon PowerShot SD1400IS MP 14.1 (black) and also uploaded several 100% crops from each image pixel as Peepers can see detail that this camera produces. Let me be clear, anyone who thinks that this camera will produce anything near the quality of a DSLR fool yourself. There is no way that this small of a package (3.6 x 0.7 x 2.2 inch, 4.6 grams), the same picture quality as a DSLR to produce. If the image quality on the ruling, would be better because of the 10MP Canon PowerShot S90 digital camera, but you lose the HD video capabilities, portability and spend some more money. If I want extreme quality, I use my Canon 40D + lens with me and shoot in RAW. Auto mode is smart and I think there is more going on behind the scenes than one would expect. If someone the same image (same ISO settings, exposure, shutter speed, etc.) in Auto mode and then program the results are similar, but I think the car will win almost every time. I can not confirm this, but Auto seems to various compression algorithms, depending on the subject and may result in less noise at higher ISO, so the program can. Inside shots are fine, but I wish I could set a range to force the ISO to Auto ISO does not exceed 400. Tip: If you are getting blurred images, remember that the minimum focusing distance is much less than 5 cm in 28 mm and 50 cm significantly more than the 112 mm zoom. So if you try the camera too close to your subject to get you properly evaluate your zoom / subject distances, otherwise the matter will be blurry. Perhaps this would have helped one star reviewer. End parts of Caution: 1. No display, and frankly, the small display, SD780IS was useless, so I do not miss with. The LCD is bright and works very well on bright days 2. There is no optical zoom during video recording, digital zoom only, so you must decide on a zoom long before you start recording. This is a non-issue for me, as the overuse of zoom, and many people in general would be better to record rather than simply a static shot deal with me dizzy shaky-cam + zoom at the same time. Bottom line: This is a handheld device capable of decent pictures with amazing HD video recording as a bonus. It 'pretty little getting caught all over the world to capture all those special moments. I highly recommend it to anyone, because they realize the limitations of ultra-compact cameras. I hope this is a critical factor is useful. Update: I forgot to mention that you must be sure to get more of a "Class 4" SD Card (Class 6 would be even better) to avoid problems with video recording (lost frames, etc.) ) Update 2: Still Loving use this camera for six weeks, I especially like HD video capability and they all use

If, like most people, you've been shooting with a standard-size zoom, you will be blown away when, with just a simple push of a button, you're taken right up to the shot you want. For natural candids of people, pets and wildlife there's no substitute, while stadium games, concerts and other big events come to life with a lens that puts you right in the middle of the action. Best of all? Even at the far end of the zoom your shots are clear and steady, thanks to Canon's highly effective Optical Image Stabilizer. Canon's HS System for improved low light performance and better image quality The Canon HS System takes the frustration out of low light shooting. The system delivers clear, blur-free shots with all the ambiance intact, and frees you from the sometimes unwanted effects of using the flash. Beautiful low light shots are possible at both low and high ISO speeds, and the dynamic range is expanded to retain maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The system is the result of two technologies brought together in a compact PowerShot. The first is the 10.0-megapixel CMOS sensor, which positions the light-receiving surface for optimal light reception. More light means clearer, blur-free images with plenty of detail and nuance, even in dark areas. Working together with the CMOS sensor to deliver the HS System is Canon's advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which actively reduces noise and delivers high speed image processing. Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels at 24 fps) video mode plus HDMI output for easy playback of videos and photos on your HDTV Most digital cameras record videos, but isn't it time you gave your memories the unparalleled quality of full high definition? The PowerShot SD4500 IS Digital ELPH camera records videos in uncompromising Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels at 24 fps) to give you the highest quality videos available--and all from a camera that fits in your pocket. Experience all the stunning realism of Full HD, with smooth action, amazingly natural color and texture you can almost feel. Watching your HD videos and sharing them with others is as easy as plugging your camera into your HDTV with a single cable. The camera's HDMI output ensures that your videos retain every pixel of resolution and quality. Advanced Smart AUTO identifies 28 shooting scenes The PowerShot SD4500 IS Digital ELPH camera takes the quality of your still images and videos to a whole new level--automatically. The camera's advanced Smart AUTO system detects a wealth of information about the scene you're shooting, then automatically selects the optimal settings for you. Now with an expanded range of 28 shooting scenarios, the camera handles virtually any situation you'll encounter beautifully--freeing you up to concentrate on composing your shot and capturing the moment you're looking for. From portraits to landscapes to action scenes, the SD4500 IS Digital ELPH camera has you covered whether you're shooting stills or videos. Shoot slow motion video with the Super Slow Motion Movie function and playback at 30 fps Give your videos a whole new look with the Super Slow Motion Movie function. Whether you're going for a dreamy, creative slant when documenting family moments, or making a highlight film of your kids' greatest sports plays, you'll love the high quality capture of this all-new feature. The camera shoots your clips at high speed (approx. 240fps) and plays them back at 30fps for the inimitable super slow motion feeling you'll love. High-Speed Burst mode for capturing sports and action shots High-Speed Burst is exactly what you need when you're trying to capture the best possible shot within a moment of fast-moving action. In High-Speed Burst mode, the camera automatically shoots continuously at high speed (approx. 8.8fps)* while you simply hold down the shutter. The mode lets you shoot sporting events, kids in motion, wildlife and any situation with unpredictable movement, then simply choose the best shots captured. * Depending on the shooting conditions, camera settings and the zoom position, the shooting speed may slow down. As the number of images increases, the shooting interval may take longer. Features like Best Image Selection and Handheld Night Scene give you greater flexibility The PowerShot SD4500 IS Digital ELPH camera has a number of cool new features to improve performance and image quality. Best Image Selection works in conjunction with the camera's continuous shooting function. The camera shoots 5 successive images, then analyzes movement and facial expressions to pick the best shot. By saving only the best shot, the feature preserves space on your memory card so you do not have to check through several similar images and erase. Handheld Night Scene helps you capture beautiful night shots without a tripod and without the blur and noise typical in nighttime shooting. The feature uses optical image stabilization combined with electronic image composition. Several shots are taken in succession and then combined into one shot, effectively reducing camera shake and producing beautifully clear, dramatic nighttime images. A review of the amateur rank No. 2 Mary-Kate, I can not write a thorough review of this camera, because I simply do not have the knowledge or cameras or photography. But I can tell you what I as a beginner about how and why I did. This is the second Canon digital camera I've owned. Last year I bought the Canon PowerShot SX120IS 10MP Digital Camera with 10x optical zoom, images and 3-inch LCD (and wrote a comment on this Amazon with the first sentence of the review, together with some other bits like). I have a fair amount of research on the brands and models before you buy this camera and at the end of love. It was very easy to use and meets all my needs relatively simple - until the time that I have fallen in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, when I returned from Vancouver implementation Iceland a few weeks. (Do not ask.) ) As I had been so happy with this camera was my first impulse to take the same model as a replacement, but to know how fast technology seems to change, I decided to see new models before you buy. That's when I met SD4500IS. Admittedly, I was as seduced by its design - all sleek and shiny, lying there tempt me (and I for my part, I love the color). But I knew it would not be happy with it, depending on the SX120IS, I met my criteria, namely: 1. Would be very easy to use. And I mean simple for me - the fan above. 2nd You should take decent pictures, even for informal operators with little experience (again, it would be me). 3rd You need a fast shutter speed, as the grandchildren and the dogs can move very, very quickly. 4th It should fit in the bag. (The new portfolio, zippered I expect things to fall pevent in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, or any other body of water, for that matter.) 5. Most importantly, have optical image Canon's optical Image Stabilizer Canon stabilization is a feature I discovered in my quest for cameras last year and who quickly became my new best friend. I have a tremor disorder that causes large shakes in my hands. It does not bother me, and not always in the vicinity of influence to work, but it can do to make a steady -, say a camera - almost impossible. As you might guess, that the results of the shaking when taking pictures is usually lousy pictures. The optical image is like a miracle for me. With this I can take close-up, which is beautifully clear - not every time, of course, but most times. And with a fast shutter speed, image stabilization really helps me a couple of good shots - even action photos - of my grandchildren and my dog. I love this job and would never consider buying another camera without it. (Note: I sent a photo to the section image of the client for this camera, making a picture of a flower shooting star - Dodecatheon - I think it shows the detail that I was able to capture with Optical Image Stabilizer) I I had a great salesman, Jeremy, who did not mind taking me for a while. (Fortunately for me, speaking English, Techy beyond the camera.) Collected intelligence in the way I was looking forward to the SD4500IS, Jeremy was able to convince me that I could meet my needs, just as he had SX120IS. As the SX120IS is really easy to use (even for me, I know! I was surprised too!) And the shutter speed is fast enough and the image stabilizer. It fits in my purse. Jeremy told me that if I was happy with the pictures I was doing with the SX120IS, would be equally or more satisfied with the results obtained with the SD4500IS. And now that I had a chance to use it, I can confirm that he was right - I get shot, which I find very yes! The following functions SC4500IS also taken into consideration in my decision to buy it: 1 HD video capability. I've only used the video mode a.

Client more useful on 744 of 756 people found this review helpful. Canon SD1400IS is able and compact with SDesign In short, it is a good camera in a small package that gives excellent results! I wanted a small portable camera with HD video capabilities that I could take with me when I do not want to lug around my digital SLR (Canon 40D + lenses), and this little gem fits the bill perfectly. This camera replaced a Canon PowerShot SD780IS (black) that are returned because of the constant sound noise (hum) while recording video. Rather than risk getting another bad SD780IS with the same problem (many seem to report hearing the noise / hum), I decided to upgrade to the latest Canon PowerShot SD1400IS (black). I am happy to report that this camera has no such problem with the audio when the video was recorded. The image quality of the SD780IS and SD1400IS is roughly the same level as what you should expect from a small ultra-portable camera. Passing 12MP 14MP sensor is a wash in the same size and the results are very similar have published several pictures of flowers under the "client images" of the 14.1 MP Canon PowerShot SD1400IS (Black) and also carrying various cultures 100% of each pixel image to the viewers can see the detail that this camera produces. Let me be clear, anyone who thinks that this camera will produce anything near the quality of a DSLR is fooling himself. There is no way this small package (3.6 x 0.7 x 2.2 inches, 4.6 ounces) can produce the same image quality of a DSLR. If the image quality, if short, would be better to consider the Canon PowerShot S90 Digital Camera 10MP, but lose the capacity for high-definition video, portability and some spend more money. When I want extreme quality, just take my Canon 40D + lenses and shooting in RAW with me. The automatic mode is smart and I think there is something more going on behind the scenes than you might expect. If the same image (same ISO settings, lighting, shutter speeds, etc.) and then the car needs in program mode, the results are the same, but I think the auto-mode winner almost every time. I have no way to confirm this, but the auto mode, different compression algorithms depending on the subject seems to have, and may produce a less noisy images at higher ISO program mode. Indoor pictures are good, but I wish I could put an ISO range beyond forcing the auto mode, not to 400 ISO. Tip: If you always blurry pictures, remember that the minimum focal length of 5cm much less, if at 28mm and much longer than 50cm are zoomed at 112mm. So if you try to get the camera close to your subject, you must measure your Zoom / subject distances correctly otherwise the subject will be blurred. Perhaps the one-star reviewers would have helped. Concluding, the following remarkable: 1 There is no viewfinder, and frankly, the small viewfinder on SD780IS was useless, so I do not miss the Mon The LCD screen is bright and works well on bright days 2. There is no optical zoom while recording video, only digital zoom, so you must decide whether a zoom length before you start recording. This is a non-issue for me so much about-zoom and usually would have been better to just play a static image instead of me dizzy with shaky-cam + to zoom while. Bottom line: This is a fantastic pocket camera that can take decent pictures with HD video recording as a bonus. It's small enough to be taken anywhere, so capturing that special moment. I would recommend it to anyone, as long as the limitations inherent in ultra-compact cameras to achieve. I hope this is helpful beyond. Update: I forgot to mention that one should certainly not be less than a "Class 4" SD Card (Class 6 would be even better) to deal on record (missing frames, etc.) to avoid getting ) Update 2: Still loving this camera after six weeks of use, I particularly like HD video capabilities and use it all

Customer reviews more useful for 498 485 people found the following review helpful. The best camera to have ... By Robert S. Tobias ... is the one you have with you. The nice thing about the Canon IXUS series is that they fit easily in your pocket, are well built / designed, not much cost, with a boatload of resources and take great pictures. The SD1300, the last in the IXUS line continues this tradition, adding sophistication and much sacrifice some additional useful features in the interest of reducing costs. It's a small camera and carries the baggage that comes with the convenience of having so much luggage. (Sorry, could not resist) None of the issues, as it comes, as part of the convenience trade-off made me consider something other than the 5-star, this camera deserves. - Many of the features are only accessible through menus, sometimes several levels deep. The good new is automatic and scene modes are pretty good (as long as you a few minutes about what they actually spend), this camera is not intended to be used in aperture or shutter priority, let alone a fully manual. - Battery life may be shorter than you expect. It is a compromise of having a camera that is small and light, you get a battery that is small and light. One thing you can do is an extra battery. It is good advice for all cameras. Another thing that helps is to keep the display by as much as possible. This means that you use the screen to minimize. The "boring" is that Canon decided to drop the optical viewfinder on this model. That means a camera that is easier and cheaper to make, but goes through batteries faster because you use the screen to the picture. - The camera response is a bit slow to effectively capture the children and pets. The trick to doing this is to have a great sense of timing and a shutter that responds instantly burst mode or a reasonably fast (> 4 times / sec) This camera has neither. Some other proposals relating to: - Use the lowest ISO available depending on your needs, either aperture or shutter speed. To avoid technical and higher ISO noise always introduces higher. The question is when it becomes obvious. The latest digital SLR cameras, you get more than 1000, perhaps more agreement on the camera before the sound is noticeable. To keep this camera for under 200 is a good idea. - Do not use the camera in focus. Digital images, almost always benefit from the sharpness, but is best with an image editing program. Team-based algorithms tend to be more sophisticated and better able to assess results on the screen compared to LCD on the camera. - If you want more colorful and have the opportunity sRGB instead of Adobe RGB. As you get fewer colors spread across a wide range are also better at computer monitors, many commercial laboratories, and anywhere else the images are likely to appear. Finally, I found the Caselogic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black / Grey) is the right size for this camera. It is semi-rigid so you can get a good amount of protection, but does not add much volume. It's even better using one of them, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01-1 S-Biner Size, Black, 2-Pack, for attachment to a belt. Actually, I believe that honest, efficient, can take the place of first hand experience that is lacking in online shopping. I always appreciated the help I received from other users and work hard to return the favor as best as possible. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was something you thought was missing or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can fix it. 821 of 869 people found this review helpful. He is smart and has some nice pictures of CAMP JEEP I'll try some things I found on this camera to share, these are just my thoughts, I hope it could help some of the things I am.

You can keep the feel of the scene intact without adding additional light, so the result will be scenes with the visual accuracy, depth and clarity you expect from a Canon camera. New Smart Shutter technology Smart Shutter, which includes Smile Self-Timer, Wink Self-timer and Face Self-timer, detects faces in the scene and releases the shutter automatically in response to the appearance of an additional face, or when a smile or sassy wink occurs. These technologies take the guesswork out of your photography, allowing you to focus solely on your subject and get the perfect shot. The Canon SD1400IS has power & Compact For SDesign short, this is an excellent camera in a very small package that delivers great results! I wanted a small portable camera with HD video capabilities, I could take if I did not want to lug my DSLR (Canon 40D + lenses) and this gem perfectly. This camera replaced a Canon PowerShot SD780IS (Black), who came back because of the constant audio noise (hum) while recording video. Rather than risk another SD780IS defect with the same problem (many seem to report hearing the noise / hum), I decided to upgrade to the latest Canon PowerShot SD1400IS (black). I am happy to report that this camera has no problem with audio and video is recorded. The image quality of the SD780IS and SD1400IS is approximately the same plane and what to expect from such a small ultra-portable camera. 12MP to 14MP is a wash of the probe is the same size and the results are very similar, I posted several shots of flowers under the "customer images" of the Canon PowerShot SD1400IS MP 14.1 (black) and also downloaded to the different cultures 100% of each image pixel peepers can see the detail that this camera produces. Let me be clear, those who think that this picture will produce something similar to the quality of an SLR is not deceiving himself. There is no way that this small of a package (3.6 x 0.7 x 2.2 inches, 4.6 ounces) can produce image quality similar to a digital SLR. If the image quality is so important, it would be better to consider the Canon PowerShot S90 digital camera 10 MP, but you lose the possibility of HD video, some portability and spend more money. When I want great quality, I just just take my 40D + Canon lenses with me, and shoot RAW. The Auto mode is intelligent and I think it's more behind the scenes that you might expect. If you take the same image (same ISO settings, lighting, shutter, etc.) and then run in Program mode, the results are the same, but I think Auto wins almost every time. I have no way to confirm this, but the automatic mode seems to have different compression algorithms depending on the subject and able to produce an image less noisy at high ISO compared to how the program can. Inside shots are good, but I want to set the ISO sensitivity to force auto mode not to exceed 400 ISO. Tip: If you get blurred images, remember that the minimum focal length is 28 mm less than five cm when 50 cm, and considerably more when zoomed to 112mm. So if you try to get the camera close to your subject, be sure to measure your zoom / subject distances properly otherwise the issue will be out of focus. Maybe it will help the reviewer 1 star. Final items Note: 1 There is no viewfinder, and, frankly, was the tiny viewfinder on SD780IS useless, so do not miss having one. The LCD is bright and works very well, even on clear days 2. No optical zoom during video recording, digital zoom only, so you have to decide on a long zoom before recording starts. This is not a problem for me as excessive use of zoom number of people and generally have been better than just recording a fixed plane instead of making me dizzy with trembling zoom cam + at the same time. Conclusion: This is a fantastic pocket camera with decent image capable of recording HD video, as a bonus. It's small enough that it will reach all parts that can capture those special moments. I would recommend to anyone as long as they realize the limitations of ultra-compact cameras. I hope this is the review is helpful. Update: Forgot to mention that one should make sure you get nothing less than a "Class 4" SD card (Class 6 would be even better) to avoid problems recording video (dropped frames, etc.) ) Update 2: Still Loving use this camera for six weeks, I especially like HD video capability and they all use
