The best customer feedback 491 of 504 people found this review helpful. The best camera for ... Robert S. Tobias ... is that you have with you. The beauty of Canon's ELPH series that fits easily in your pocket, well built / design does not cost much, come with a boatload of resources and take great photos. The SD1300, last ELPH line continues this tradition, adding additional sophistication and considerable sacrifice some useful functions in the interest of cost reduction. It is a tiny camera and carries the baggage that comes with the convenience of having to carry as little baggage. (Sorry, could not resist) None of the issues raised, as it comes as part of the convenience trade-off made me think that there is a 5 star rating, this camera deserves. - Many resources are only accessible through menus, sometimes several layers deep. The good news is the automatic mode, and the scene is quite good (as long as you spend a few minutes to review what they actually do) This camera is not intended to be used in opening or shutter priority, not to mention all manual. - Battery life may be shorter than expected. This is a trade-off for a camera that is small and lightweight, you get a battery that is small and lightweight. One thing you can do is get an extra battery. This is good advice for any camera. Another thing that helps is to keep the screen off as much as possible. This means that you use the screen as possible. The "sad" is that Canon has chosen to abandon the optical viewfinder on this model. That means a camera that is easier and cheaper to make, but will go through batteries faster, because you need the screen when you record. - The response of the camera is a bit "slow to catch effectively children and pets. The trick to doing this is to either have a great sense of timing and a shutter that responds promptly and reasonably fast (> 4 times / sec) burst mode, this camera has neither. Some other proposals relating to: - Use the lowest ISO available given your need for both the aperture or shutter speed. To avoid technical, introduces a higher ISO noise is always higher. The question is when it becomes noticeable. The newer digital SLR cameras can be more than 1000, perhaps well above, depending on the camera, before the sound is noticeable. For this camera, making it at or below 200 is a good idea. - Do not use in-camera sharpening. Digital images will almost always benefit from sharpening, but you are better to do with an image editing program. Computer-based algorithms tend to be more advanced and you can better assess the results on your monitor instead of LCD. - Want more vivid colors and choice to sRGB instead of Adobe RGB. When fewer colors spread across a wider spectrum is also better for computer screens, many commercial laboratories, and over all the images are likely to appear. Finally I found the Case Logic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black / Grey) is the right size for this camera. It is semi-rigid so that you get a good amount of protection, but does not add much volume. It's even better by using one of them, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01 Size-1 S-Biner, Black, 2-pack, for attachment to a belt. Moreover, I believe that honest, efficient, can take place first hand experiences that are missing in online shopping. I have always appreciated the help I received from others and work hard to return the favor as best he can. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was something you thought was missing or unclear, leave a comment and I'll do whatever I can to fix it. 822 of 870 people found this review helpful.
